HISTORICAL POSITION:

• Some NHW’s in the Upper Highway area receive between R30k-R50k per month (R360k-R600k annually).

• Assagay NHW Donations by year:

  • 2021/22 = R107k

  • 2022/23 = R63k

  • 2023/24 = R216k

  • 2024/25 = R306k (a new record!)

  • 2025/26 = R166k so far (7 months in. 58% into the year; only 47% of budget achieved! We are now trending slightly behind last year - PLEASE DONATE)

2025/26 Progress against Budget:

We’re now seven months into the new financial year and have raised R166k — lower than the R204k we were aiming for at this stage.
PLEASE DONATE! Our camera rollout/acquisitions are expected to pick up speed over the next few months, with a few new sites identified and in progress. Work on area maintenance/cleaning and responder training has continued as planned. We have made a massive dent on the Kassier Road wetland rehabilitation!

• Cameras (new installations and maintenance): R130,000 | R33,515 spent

• Responder Equipment & Training: R92,000 | R5,840 spent

• Area Betterment (Verges, parks, wetland, lighting, CPF): R90,000 | R46,230 spent

• Admin, Operations, Events, Marketing: R38,000 | R17,781 spent

On average, the ANHW patrollers drive an estimated 400km to 700km per month for you, the residents. They do not currently get reimbursed for this cost. The ANHW is a volunteer-based, non-profit operation and your donations determine the speed at which security and betterment projects are rolled out.
