HISTORICAL POSITION:

• Some NHW’s in the Upper Highway area receive between R30k-R50k per month (R360k-R600k annually).

• Assagay NHW Donations by year:

  • 2021/22 = R107k

  • 2022/23 = R63k

  • 2023/24 = R216k

  • 2024/25 = R306k (a new record!)

  • 2025/26 = R122k so far (5 months in. 42% into the year; only 34% of budget achieved!)

2025/26 Progress against Budget:

We’re now five months into the new financial year and have raised R122k — lower than the R145k we were aiming for at this stage. PLEASE DONATE! Our camera rollout/acquisitions are expected to pick up speed over the next few months, with a few new sites identified and in progress. Work on maintenance/cleaning has continued as planned. We have training for our Responders planned for September:

• Cameras (new installations and maintenance): R130,000 (R17,711)

• Responder Equipment & Training: R92,000 (R2,390)

• Area Betterment (Vergers, parks, lighting, CPF): R90,000 (R29,140)

• Admin, Operations, Events, Marketing: R38,000 (R8,045)

On average, the ANHW patrollers drive an estimated 400km to 700km per month for you, the residents. They do not currently get reimbursed for this cost. The ANHW is a volunteer-based, non-profit operation and your donations determine the speed at which security and betterment projects are rolled out.
