HISTORICAL POSITION:

• Some NHW’s in the Upper Highway area receive between R30k-R50k per month (R360k-R600k annually).

• Assagay NHW Donations by year (our financial year runs April to March):

  • 2021/22 = R107k

  • 2022/23 = R63k

  • 2023/24 = R216k

  • 2024/25 = R306k (a new record! 102% of our R300k budget)

  • 2025/26 = R331k (a new record! 95% of our R350k budget!). Well done and thank you to everyone that donated.

2025/26 Progress against Budget:

Our camera rollout/acquisitions picked up speed over the next few months, with a few new sites identified and in progress. Work on area maintenance/cleaning and responder training has continued as planned. We have made a massive dent on the Kassier Road wetland rehabilitation!

Updated Budget vs Actual numbers for the year (figures not yet finalised):

• Cameras (new installations and maintenance): R130,000 | R44k spent

• Responder Equipment & Training: R23,000 | R18k spent

• Area Betterment (Verges, parks, wetland, lighting, CPF): R105,000 | R97k spent

• Admin, Operations, Events, Marketing: R42,000 | R42k spent

On average, the ANHW patrollers drive an estimated 400km to 700km per month for you, the residents. They do not currently get reimbursed for this cost. The ANHW is a volunteer-based, non-profit operation and your donations determine the speed at which security and betterment projects are rolled out.
